When I started my first business some 15 years ago, Facebook was only 2 years old, the iPhone was not even out yet and Google was in its infancy. We were doing direct mailings, TV advertising and a lot of print advertising.
We even had a full page ad in the Yellow Pages!
How quickly times have changed. The way we have communicated and interacted with our clients happened almost overnight, I began to to notice that we were struggling to find a suitable provider to handle all of our online activities. Do we focus on social media? Do we put money into SEO to get our website noticed? Do we invest in Google to drive traffic?
Almost as quickly as advertising went digital, so arrived a sea of companies claiming to have the magic bullet to our online advertising challenges.
I realised a few years ago, as I was starting my 5th business, that none of them really had a magic bullet to anything, except how to charge me a lot of money. I was spending a lot of time managing all these different companies handling our various products. It was a time and money sink, and I was not convinced I was really seeing a return on my substantial investment.
So I had an idea. Why not centralise all this advertising for my businesses with a talented, driven team whose only goal is to deliver clear and specific returns for our businesses each month.
From this idea, Pursuit Media was born.
As I started sharing my idea with friends business associates, I soon discovered my businesses were not the only ones suffering from this issue. In the space of three months we went from looking after my portfolio of businesses to taking on outside businesses and helping them grow as well.
I can honestly say, the team we have are delivering real returns for both myself and our clients and its so exciting to share those fantastic outcomes with like-minded businesses.
